Jas as a Full Member and Membership Committee Head

Al temporarily joined the meeting to vote, giving us a quorum. After voting, Al left the meeting. Since Jas is now in the Executive body, we have a quorum.

Connor moved that the organization approve Jas as a Full Member and Membership Committee head.
The motion was adopted.

Approve June Meeting Minutes

Connor moved that the organization approve the June Member Meeting Minutes.
The motion was adopted.

Update on Neighbor's Scaffolding (Ross)

The scaffolding work is still under progress. It should be taken down before our August music event.

July Live Music Event (Gina)

Gina was not present to discuss. Given our low donations from the June event, we discussed a tip jar.

Ross moved that the organization purchase a locking tip jar costing up to $30. After discussion, Karl moved to amend the motion by striking “$30” and inserting “$40”. The amendment was adopted.
The motion to purchase a locking tip jar costing up to $40 was adopted.

August Live Music Event (Gina)

Gina was not present to discuss. We decided to just pick the same date as last month.

Ross moved that the organization hold the next Live Music Series on August 17th from 2 to 6pm.
The motion was adopted.

Update on Circular Deck Project (Al)

Al was not present to discuss.

Completed Hydrant Hookup Hose Project (Connor)

The hydrant hookup project has been successfully completed making the task much easier. More improvements are to come. Images are provided in the document. Connor can demonstrate how to do it whenever you are available.

Karl moved that the organization hold a demonstration on how to connect the hydrant within the next 6 weeks.
Karl rescinded his motion.

Update on the Rat Proofing the Remaining Back Fence Project (Ross)

There has been no progress on the project yet. There was some difficulty buying materials using the sales tax exemption, but that shouldn’t prevent us from starting to dig.

Tree Trimmer

Dominique has loaned us her tree trimmer so we no longer need to acquire one for now.

Reimbursement for Pathway Lights and Mosquito Nets

Ross paid around $30 to buy solar pathway lights and mosquito nets for the rain barrels, he only wants to recoup $15. At our last meeting, his motion for reimbursement was not adopted. Rochelle expresses her gratitude for Ross’ purchase.

Rochelle moved that the organization reimburse Ross $15 towards his purchase of the solar pathway lights and mosquito netting.
The motion was adopted.

Electronic Lock

Recently, the garden had an incident where a non-member was seen in the garden at 11:30pm. We do not know which member had given him a key. Buying an electronic lock that uses a simple 0 through 9 keypad would allow us to know which member has given their code away because each member would have a unique code. Some members were concerned about the cost of the lock, the durability, and the ease of use. We ran out of time while discussing this.

Connor moved that the organization adjourn the meeting and add existing agenda items to the next meeting:

  • Mosquito Candles
  • Electronic Lock
  • Garden Fan (Ross)
  • Memorial for Sebastian (Rochelle)
  • Comedy Event (Bartosz)

The motion was adopted.

Meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm.

Our next meeting will be held on Monday, August 12th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., starting promptly at 6:30 p.m.
